Three Olympic sires one after another

Cornet’s Darco confirmed the absolutely fantastic impression he made at his 2019 licensing in Vechta, at his stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf: 9.0 for his jumping ability, 9.0 for his rideability, 9.0 for his willingness to perform, 9.0 for his temperament and 9.0 for his overall impression. With a total of 8.58, he was amongst the best of the starting field of 35 candidates.

This typey athlete, who has every conceivable prerequisite for today’s technically demanding and fast show jumping courses, will present his first crop of foals this year.

The sire Cornet Obolensky, ranked eleventh in the WBFSH world ranking list of the best jumping sires in 2020, produced countless show jumping stars, above all the reigning European Champion Clooney/Martin Fuchs/SUI, the team Vice European Champion Comme il faut/Marcus Ehning and the winner of the Nations Cup final Balou du Reventon/Darragh Kenny/IRL. At the age of eight, Cornet Obolensky had already won Grand Prix competitions and Nations Cups, including the Super League final, with Marco Kutscher. In 2008, after winning bronze at the German Championships, the Grand Prix of Balve and Cervia/IRA and the Nations Cup in Rotterdam/NED, he became a member of the German Olympic Team. Cornet Obolensky was also part of the German gold medallist team at the European Championships in Madrid/ESP.

The dam sire Darco was placed in Grand Prix, Nations’ Cups and show jumping World Cups with Ludo Philippaerts/BEL and was placed seventh in the Olympic Games in Barcelona/ESP. Thanks to his offspring such as Sapphire/McLain Ward/USA, Valentina van’t Heike/Jos Lansink/BEL, Winningmood/Luciana Diniz/POR and Parco/Ludo Philippaerts, he led the WBFSH world ranking of the best show jumping sires for years. He was named “Ambassador” by his breeding association BWP.

Chin Chin, who appears in the third generation, won five World Cup competitions in 1988 and finished sixth individually at the Olympic Games in Seoul/COR. He also took part in the Olympic Games in 1992 in Barcelona/ESP and in the first World Equestrian Games in 1990 in Stockholm/SWE, ridden by Jaime Azcarraga/MEX. In 1989 and 1990, he was placed in the World Cup finals of Dortmund and Tampa/USA.

The great-grand-dam Thiara D’Ive is the full sister of the stallion Que Pour Toi and of Qrispy D’Ive Z/Tina Lund/DEN, who competed in 1.60m show jumping competitions.

The licensed stallions Lacan/Patrick Stühlmeyer, Sheraton, Checkpoint Charlie, Edward/Charlott-Maria Schürmann, Aloubé Z, Carismo and Congerino as well as Tijl vh Pallieterland/Steve Guerdat/SUI, Chablou/Luka Zaloznik/MKD, Retro/William Whitaker/GBR, Chemonix/Jeremy Sweetnam/IRL, Gina, Gislane, Golda, Gomery, Luxus, Roncalli and Sampras descend from this line.
