His dam Georgia produced four licensed sons

For almost ten years, Balou du Rouet has been one of the world’s best show jumping and eventing sires according to the WBFSH ranking. The list of offspring successful at the Championships is headed by two-time Olympic team silver medallist and individual eighth Baloutinue/Laura Kraut/USA, followed by the World Championships individual and European Championship team bronze medallist and World Cup eighth Bianca/Steve Guerdat/SUI, the two European Championship team bronze medallists Equitron Naxcel V/Gerfried Puck/AUT and Saura de Fondcombe/Nadja Peter Steiner/SUI as well as the European Eventing Championships team gold and individual silver medallist and ninth place at the World Championships Billy the Red/Kristina Cook/GBR, the individual bronze medallist at the European Eventing Championships, Corouet/Sarah Bullimore/GBR, Millstreet bronze medallist Barrichello/Cathal Daniels/IRL and the team gold and individual bronze medallist at the Young Rider Eventing Championships in Vilamoura/POR, Balento C.S./Emilie Conter/BEL. The number of his offspring successful in 1.60-metre courses is almost 100, including Babalou/Darragh Kenny/IRL, who finished fourth in Aachen, as well as Baju NRW/Stefan Engbers, Millfield Baloney/Adrian Speight/GBR, Bastille/Martin Fuchs/SUI, Blue Balou/Angelos Touloupis/GRE, Balou Rubin/Pius Schwizer/SUI, Blossom Z/McLain Ward/USA and Illusion/Titouran Schumacher/FRA, who were successful in Grand Prix, World Cup jumping and Nations Cups. Gold at the World Championships for young show jumpers for six-year-olds in 2025 went to Balou du Rouet’s daughter Ortane with Max von der Poll/NED in the saddle.

At the top of the more than 70 licensed sons of Balou du Rouet are our serial winner in Grand Prix, Baloutaire PS/Philip Rüping and Patrick Stühlmeyer, as well as Balzaci/Felix Haßmann, Baccord/Gerrit Nieberg and Balous Bellini/Lutz Gripshöver. From a breeding point of view, the premium stallion of the Holstein licensing, Baloubetto, who was auctioned off for 90,000 euros, the OS Reserve Champion Mare Honey Star and the Champion Colts or Champion Foals of the Goldfever Ring at the German Foal Championships should also be mentioned.

Balou du Rouet started his own career with a 30-day test in Vechta, which was rated 9.2. After serial victories in show jumping competitions, he also won the qualification at the German Championships with a score of 9.2, placed eighth in the final of the six-year-olds and won up to 1.50 metre show jumping.

His dam Georgia produced three licensed stallions: Balissimo (by Baloubet du Rouet), the German Champion Cornet’s Balou (by Cornet Obolensky), who was part of the victorious USA Nations Cup team with Brian Moggre in Aachen in 2021 under his sport name Balou du Reventon and finished second in the Grand Prix and won the Grand Prix of Sopot/POL and Wellington/USA, and Chatinue (by Chacco-Blue)/Darragh Kenny/IRL. Georgia’s daughters and granddaughters produced numerous international show jumpers and licensed stallions, led by the Nations Cup winner, third place finishers in the Global Champions Tour stages of Riyadh/KSA and Vienna/AUT as well as in the Aachen NRW Prize, Chageorge (by Chacco-Blue) under Olympic champion Christian Kukuk. The youngest offspring is the serial winner in show jumping tests for young horses, Casco Blue PS (by Casallco), who is also stationed with us.

The Oldenburg dam’s sire Continue is also on the dam’s sire side of the World Championships and European Championships participant Antello Z/Cameron Hanley/IRL, Baloufina/Cian O’Connor/IRL and Camilla/Denis Lynch/IRL.

The granddam Georgette II became the dam of the licensed Sandrissimo (by Sandro), who was placed in 1.40 metre show jumping.

The sires Domino, Gepard and Granit, which followed Balou du Rouet in the following generations, have had a lasting influence on the mare base in Paul Schockemöhle’s breeding.

From the Westphalian mare line of film studies also come the licensed Daddy Cool, Le Sandro, Lord Sandro, Conthargos/Jacek Zagor/POL, Lacento and Sir Calido.
