Among the top ten of the world’s best dressage sires

It was the year of Vivaldi again. Even now in sixth place among the world’s best dressage sires according to the WBFSH ranking, he recently set one of the top prices at the 41st P.S.I. Auction with the licensed Virtual Story. The year before, V-Plus Gold, who had meanwhile won dressage horse tests under Frederic Wandres, was already the top price of the P.S-I. auction with a hammer price of 1.3 million euros. The two European Championship team silver medallists Desperado N.O.P./Emmelie Scholtens/NED and Glock’s Dream Boy N.O.P./Hans Peter Minderhoud/NED, the Grand Prix winners Diesel/Emma Hindle/GBR, Expression/Diederik van Silfhout/NED, Chinook/Patrick van der Meer/NED and Etoine/Tinne Vilhelmson Silfvén/SWE as well as the up-and-coming stars Mount St. John VIP/Charlotte Dujardin/GBR, Harmony’s V-Plus/Susan Pape/GBR and the Westphalian Reserve Winner and fourth of the German Elite Mare Championships, Lolita. In 2018, it was our premium stallion and two-million-euro stallion market sensation Vivino, the Hanoverian champion mare Vanity Vair and the Louisdor Prize winner Veneziano/Daniel Bachmann Andersen/DEN who caused a sensation. And this list could be extended indefinitely. In total, the number of licensed sons amounts to almost 50, including Burg Cup eighth Vainqueur under Hubertus Schmidt, the dressage world championship double bronze medallist and Small Tour winner Eye Catcher, the dressage horse world champion Dancer, our Burg Cup winner Vitalis/Isabel Freese/NOR as well as the reigning Oldenburg main premium winner Vivaldos and the second-ranked Viva Gold. Fenix won double gold at the 2015 and 2016 Pavo Cup in the Netherlands.

Vivaldi was stallion performance test reserve champion in the Netherlands and won the Pavo Cup for five-year-olds in 2007 (comparable to the German Championships). In 2008 and 2009 he was ridden by Hans Peter Minderhoud/NED to victory in the KNHS/KWPN Stallion Series, where he received a 10 for his trot. He then successfully placed internationally up to St. Georges. In 2013 he won the VHO Trophy at the KWPN licensing. From then on, breeding had priority.

The sire Krack C is considered a trademark stallion in the Netherlands. The two-time Pavo Cup winner of 1996 and 97 finished eighth in the individual ranking of the 2002 World Equestrian Games in Jerez/ESP under Anky van Grunsven/NED. His sons licensed in the Netherlands include Trento B, Tuschinski, Tolando, United, Velazquez, Zhivago and Dorado.

Vivaldi’s half-sister Wiona Utopia became champion of the national mare show in the Netherlands in 2006.

The dam’s sire Jazz belonged to the Dutch team at the World Equestrian Games in Jerez/ESP in 2002 under Tineke Bartes. Later he continued his quadrilateral career under Kirsten Beckers/NED. In 2002, Jazz received the title “keur” for his hereditary performance. In 2006 he was voted “KWPN Horse of the Year”. In 2007, the title “preferent” was added. From 2008 to 2011 and now again in 2019, Jazz was at the top of the WBFSH dressage ranking, which he owes to his numerous successful offspring, such as the multiple champion Parzival/Adelinde Cornelissen/NED.

Vivaldi comes from the Utopia line, the most successful Dutch mare family. Nick Skeltons/GBR Arko III and Ludo Philippaerts’/BEL Darco as well as the other stallions Premier and Radar and international show jumpers Loretta, It’s the Business, Now or Never and Opium.
