Gray Top – Sunset Boulevard xx – Star Regent xx – Papi’s Boy xx
This is the pedigree of the exceptionally typical grey stallion – those familiar with horse breeding will have recognized it immediately: This son of Grey Top comes from the direct line of success of the legendary Friedrich “Fritz” Butt, arguably the most successful line of modern eventing horses!
The Lower Saxony State Stud has decided to honor this valuable breeding achievement, to continue the traditional naming convention, and to allow these further high-quality offspring of this line to compete under the name “Grey Butt” in both breeding and sport.
For this young stallion from Hunnesrück breeding, there could be no better advertising than his relatives: Let’s start with his grandmother, who also produced Andreas Dibowski’s Olympic horse “Butts Leon FRH”, and his great-grandmother, who also gave Frank Ostholt a Nations Cup horse, “Jum Jum”.
Furthermore, this entire line is characterized by athleticism, so we can only mention a few: There’s “Mount St. John Freestyle,” who won the bronze medal at the 2018 World Championships with Charlotte Dujardin; “Calle J,” who competed in the German Junior Eventing Championships with Anuschka Reumann; “Lennox,” who celebrated international successes in eventing with Michael Jung; “Butts Larissa,” who galloped to the bronze medal at the German Eventing Championships with Wiebke Timmermann; and Andreas Dibowski’s other Olympic horse: “Leonas Dancer.”
In 2022, Grey Butt placed several times in show jumping competitions of class M and, as the crowning conclusion of the season, in a show jumping competition of class M**.
