Serial winner in Grand Prix

Closely related to Olympic champion Nino des Buissonnets/Steve Guerdat/SUI

Baloutaire PS and his new rider Patrick Stühlmeyer immediately achieved absolute top placings, including second place in the Grand Prix of Frankfurt, third place in the World Cup show jumping in Mechelen/BEL, fourth place in the Grand Prix of St. Tropez/FRA and seventh place each in the Grand Prix of Riesenbeck and in the Sires of the World final in Lanaken/BEL. Previously, he had already been unbeatable with Philip Rüping in the saddle in the Grand Prix of Frankfurt, Neumünster, Herning/DEN and Hohen Wieschendorf, also joined the list of winners of the Riders Tour and took third places in Nations Cup appearances, in the Sires of the World final and in the Grand Prix of Redefin.

Baloutaire PS, who was used for breeding for the first time in 2019, also made positive headlines in terms of breeding with his wealthy jumping young horses, including Blue Balou/Claudiu Floristeanu/ROU, who was placed at the World Championships for young horses, and the serial winner in youngster show jumping Bea Blue PS/Emma Stoker/GBR. The first sons from his debut crop were also licensed, including the AWÖ Reserve Champion Baloucord, the Hanoverian premium stallion Baloutelli and the OS premium stallion Balouthargos. The first offspring start promisingly in the course. His daughter Hann.Pr.A. Ballouccina was Reserve Champion of the Herwart von der Decken-Show. Baraiya PS was sold for the top price of 239,000 euros via the Schockemöhle online auction. At the German Foal Championships, Baloutaire PS provided the winner and two finalists.

For almost ten years, the sire Balou du Rouet has been one of the world’s best show jumping and eventing sires according to the WBFSH ranking. The list of offspring who have been successful at the Championships is headed by the two-time Olympic team silver medallist and individual eighth Baloutinue/Laura Kraut/USA, followed by the World Championships individual and European Championship team bronze medallist and World Cup eighth Bianca/Steve Guerdat/SUI, the two European Championship team bronze medallists Equitron Naxcel V/Gerfried Puck/AUT and Saura de Fondcombe/Nadja Peter Steiner/SUI as well as the eventing European Championship team gold and individual silver medallist and ninth place at the World Championships Billy the Red/Kristina Cook/GBR, the individual bronze medallist of the European Eventing Championships Corouet/Sarah Bullimore/GBR, the Millstreet bronze medallist Barrichello/Cathal Daniels/IRL and the team gold and individual bronze medallist of the Young Rider Eventing European Championships in Vilamoura/POR, Balento C.S./Emilie Conter/BEL. The number of his offspring in 1.60 metre courses is almost 100, including Babalou/Darragh Kenny/IRL, who finished fourth in Aachen, as well as Baju NRW/Stefan Engbers, Millfield Baloney/Adrian Speight/GBR, Bastille/Martin Fuchs/SUI, Blue Balou/Angelos Touloupis/GRE, Balou Rubin/Pius Schwizer/SUI, Blossom Z/McLain Ward/USA and Illusion/Titouran Schumacher/FRA, who were successful in Grand Prix, World Cup jumping and Nations Cups. More than 70 licensed sons of Balou du Rouet are on the books.

The dam Chataire produced the half-brother Dia Blue (by Diarado; 1.45 m-Spr.)/Sarah Vanessa Simek/AUT. The half-brother Vivataire PS, descended from Vivant van de Heffinck, entered his first international season under Agustin Lera/ARG in 2025.

The dam’s sire Chacco-Blue, himself third in the Grand Prix of Aachen and winner of the Grand Prix of Neumünster, was number one in the WBFSH ranking of the world’s best show jumping sires for six years in a row from 2017, ranked second in 2023 and 24 and is now in third place. The elite stallion has Olympic Champion, European Championship individual silver and team bronze medallist and Global Champions Tour winner Explosion W/Ben Maher/GBR, Olympic sixth Chanyon/Daisuke Fukushima/JPN, European Team Champion Chaqui Z/Shane Sweetnam/IRL, second in the Nations Cup Final Chacon/Eoin McMahon/IRL and EIC Up Too Jacco Blue, seventh in the World Cup final/Max Kühner/AUT. At almost all championships, Chacco-Blue produced the most offspring. Among his well over 100 licensed sons is the current jumping winner of the Westphalian licensing in Münster-Handorf.

The granddam Nema produced the 1.50 metre show jumper Stakalite (by Stakkatol)/Piergiorgio Bucci/ITA. The Nema son Chacoonemo PS placed in 1.40 metre show jumping competitions in 2023 under Felipe Amaral/BRA. His full brother Chacoon’s Nevo PS (both by Chacoon Blue)/Christopher Burton/AUS was successful at the World Championships for young show jumpers (5y.o.) and won the international Youngster Tour.

Voltaire, who followed in third place, achieved numerous international triumphs under Jos Lansink/BEL. In 1989 he ended his show jumping career with victory in the Grand Prix of Berlin and second place in the Grand Prix of Leeuwarden/NED. Due to the successes of his offspring, such as Finesse, Play it Again, Altaire, Concorde, Dante, Especiale, Helios, Kahlua, Kannan, Limmetair and Lexicon, Voltaire is considered the Chef de Race in France and has always held a top position among sires worldwide.

Quidam de Revel in the fourth generation won team bronze at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona/ESP under Hervé Godignon/FRA and finished fourth in the individual ranking. From 1993 under the saddle of Thomas Velin/DEN, he won the Grand Prix of Hanover and finished fifth in the World Cup jumping in Helsinki/FIN. With his offspring, he set standards and is listed in his native France, just like his grandfather Almé and his father Jalisco B, as Chef du Race Mondial.

The maternal line of Baloutaire PS is of French origin. The 94 mare family produced stallions such as Belphegor IV, Fair Play III, Lyndon and Veneur du Prêlet, and the Olympic champion of London/GBR 2012, Nino des Buissonnets under Steve Guerdat/SUI.
