Eighth in the WBFSH ranking of the world’s best dressage sires
In 2024, San Amour, like his father Sandro Hit and his paternal brother Sir Donnerhall I before him, once again made it into the top ten of the world’s best dressage sires. In 2020 he was already ninth, now he ranks eighth. San Amour I owes this to its numerous offspring in international top sport, including the Olympic and European Championship participant West Side Story OLD/ Estelle Wettstein/SUI, the World Championship and European Championship participant Ikke-Pia v/d Bergerhoeve/Lore Vandeborne/BEL, the team bronze medallist of the Pan-Am Games, Sound of Silence/Camille Carier Bergeron/CAN, the Nations Cup winners Addict de Massa/Anna Kasprzak/DEN and Scarlett/Anne Marie Hosbond/DEN, Jibraltar de Massa/Anne Sophie Serre/FRA, Soiree d’ Amour OLD/Carina Scholz, Sandro D Amour/Olga Safronova/POL, Selfmade/Adriane Alvord/USA and Copernico/Aleksandra Poplawska/POL as well as Saphira Royal/Jemma Heran/AUS, who were placed in World Cup freestyles, and the two-time U25 European Championship gold medallist and winner of the Piaff Sponsorship Prize, FBW Sunfire/ Ann-Kathrin Lindner. The offspring successes of San Amour I are completed by the Vice World Champion for young dressage horses Samoura M, the German Champion Saniola and the Vice German Champion Stern von Afrika OLD.
In Germany alone, more than 50 of his sons have been licensed, including champion and premium stallions and the reigning Oldenburg state champion Specter/Leonie Richter. More than 220 San Amour daughters have so far been awarded the title of State Premium Mare in various breeding areas, such as the Oldenburg Champion Mare Calamity Jane, the Champion Mare of the Franz Strahl Schäfer Show in Baden-Württemberg (6y.o.), Sazou E, and the winner of the German Elite Mare Championships in Lienen, Santanyi, who became the dam of the German Riding Horse Champion Macadamja. Numerous auction peaks, such as most recently the 300,000 euro price peak Supernova of the 102nd Oldenburg Elite Auction.
San Amour I was second Reserve Champion of the Oldenburg licensing in 2006, main premium winner in 2008 and finalist at the German Championships in 2009 under Dr. Ulf Möller. From then on, breeding had priority.
The passer mating of line founder Sandro Hit to the Oldenburg Reserve Champion Mare and at the European Championships in Brussels/BEL Ic, St.Pr./El.St. Doll fairy has numerous breeding and sport tops. For example, the licensed San Amour full brother San Amour II, who works in Belgium, the Ik brilliant ring mare A Sugar Baby, the German Championships qualifier Summerhill and the SLP winner, Id brilliant ring mare and national champion Auguste Victoria. The latter in turn became the dam of the Oldenburg Reserve Champion Mare Amelie (by Fürstenball), who in turn produced the licensed Global Amour (/by Global Player).
The granddam Ariola produced the licensed stallion Pierrot Royal (by Plaisir d’Amour), his full sister Paradise, who was sold at the P.S.I. auction and placed up to Inter II, as well as the Lux dressage Dona Figuera (by Donnerschwee), who was successful up to Grand Prix and produced Amazing Figuera TR OLD (by Bonds), who was seventh at the German Championships.
