Christmas 2007 marks the death of the legend in breeding: Argentinus. His aura as a sire of the century was again justified in 2009. His son, Asti Spumante, took the German Vice Champion title under Thomas Mühlbauer, was a member of the German bronze winning European Championship team and he also took a sensational fifth place in the final evaluation in Hickstead. He is also among the potential candidates for the World Championships in 2010. And he’s just one example of the countless successful Argentinus offspring that have enjoyed an excellent reputation in the international show jumping scene for nearly two decades. Apropos Hickstead: His grandson, Augustin, took fifth place in dressage under Victoria Max-Theurer. According to the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses (WBFSH), Argentinus ranks on 27th place in the world ranking of the best dressage sires. His daughter, April Sun, the dam of the top jumper, Lantinus/Denis Lynch (IRE), was crowned the 2009 Hanoverian Mare of the Year. Power, dynamics, a willingness to work, spirit and a passion for sport – Argentinus is and will remain a long-running success story! Thanks to our supply of frozen semen, Argentinus will give his blessings in breeding in the 21st century as well.
