Gold and silver winners at the World Championships for young dressage horses

European Championship team gold winner

Oldenburg and Danish licensing winners

Global Player already has an impressive collection of titles. For example, he won team gold under the young Marie Sohler at the Junior European Championships Opglabbeek/BEL in 2024 and secured gold (freestyle) and silver (individual ranking) in the individual ranking. Global Player was initially Oldenburg and Danish licensing winner, second stallion performance test reserve champion, vice German and state champion and fourth at the World Championships for young dressage horses in the five-year-old category. In 2022, he was crowned World Champion of six-year-old dressage horses in Ermelo/NED with an incredible 97.600 percent under Eva Möller. Chief judge Katrina Wüst described the black-brown beau as an “incredibly impressive horse”, which the spectators celebrated with rhythmic applause on the final line. Transition, uphill tendency, hindquarters activity, self-posture, safe standing at the aids, … – there was nothing wrong, Katrina Wüst emphasized: “A wonderfully fluid test”. The 10 was awarded for permeability and perspective, a 9.8 for the trot and a 9.5 for the walk and canter. In 2023, she won silver at the World Championships for young dressage horses for seven-year-olds under Leonie Richter.

Global Player produced several licensed and award-winning sons from his first crops, including our second stallion performance test reserve champion Global Amour, the German and Hanoverian champion Global Hope and the seventh place finisher of the German Championships final for five-year-olds, Globall. His daughter Glamorous Gigi won gold at the Baden-Württemberger and bronze at the DSP Championships, was shown as the champion mare at the Franz Strahl-Schäfer Show and was in the final of the Gussmann Cup.

Through his sire Kastel’s Grand Galaxy Win T and his dam, the Don Schufro daughter Chatel’s Schurana, as well as the half-breed Rawage Quintus (by Age xx) in the third generation and the Trakehner Donauwind in the fourth generation, his pedigree combines the finest production lines of all.

The sire Grand Galaxy Win T, himself a son of the World Cup eighth Apache/Emmelie Scholtens/NED out of a Jazz dam, was Danish licensing winner in 2014, Danish Vice Dressage Champion in 2015 and finalist at the World Championships for young dressage horses (5y.o.) in 2016. Under Charlotte Jorst/USA, placings in the international Middle Tour were added. More than ten sons were licensed, including the premium stallion Galaxico as well as the also award-winning Hesselhøj Gnags and Giovanny-Bell and the second Reserve Champion of the Oldenburg Main Premium, Galaxy. Grand Galiano/Rikke Dupont/DEN won Grand Prix competitions, Got it BB/Jessica von Bredow-Werndl qualified for the Louisdor Prize Final in 2025 and Lennox U.S. won team gold at the Junior European Championships in Opglabbeek/BEL in 2024 under Maria Teresa Pohl.

The dam Chatel’s Schurana received a silver medal in her test and took part in the 2007 World Championships for young dressage horses in Verden for Denmark. She was then taken into breeding.

The dam’s sire Don Schufro, Danish Champion under Andreas Helgstrand/DEN and team bronze winner at the 2008 Olympic Games in Hong Kong/HKG, sired numerous successful horses, first and foremost the Olympic gold and World Cup winner and European Champion Weihegold OLD/Isabell Werth. From 2012 to 2017 and then again in 2019, he was among the top ten of the world’s best dressage sires according to the WBFSH. For years, he also dominated the FN breeding value estimate.

The Danish half-bred Rawage Quintus (by Age xx) is in third place in the pedigree. The following Trakehner Donauwind is considered by experts to be one of the best sires of the post-war period. He first worked in Denmark and then in the USA. He produced the Olympic and World Cup winner in jumping, Abdullah, and the dressage Grand Prix horse Fabian.

Originally a Hanoverian mare line of Williswinda, from which the internationally successful dressage horses Happiness/Isabella Tovek/SWE, Don Corleone/Kathleen Muhr, Radcliffe/Agnete Berger/DEN, Macao/Elizabeth Bortuzzo/USA, Alion/Juan Manuel Vidal/ESP and Angelo/Markus Jungwirth also come, as well as various licensed stallions and the eventing horse Roxanna.
