Classically bred for Eventing – Up With The Lark – one of the most exciting sires at stud in the North of England.
• As a 4 yr old was British Eventing Breeding Champion
• As a 5 yr old finished in Burghley Young Event Horse top 10
• Reached Advanced level Eventing at 8 yrs old.
Many of his offspring are now coming through successfully in the BEF Futurity Scheme. These include: Davillon Ares, JD All That Jazz and Classictop Up & At It.
As a four year old Up With The Lark was the British Eventing Breeding Champion, and finished in the top ten at the Burghley Young Event Horse Final at five years old. He competed successfully for eight seasons with Michael Jackson, reaching Advanced at eight years old. Has since posted wins at Advanced and Prix St Georges level Dressage with Heidi Hutchinson, proving his true versatility and trainability. He retired sound in 2012 and was purchased by the Harforth family to stand at Stanley Grange. Up With The Lark’s sire Welton Apollo was also an Advanced Event Stallion, competing at four star level with Leslie Law and represented GB in the European Championships. Magical Lark, Up With The Lark’s dam, was successfully competed by Sarah Taylor reaching Advanced before retiring to stud. In 2000 she was one of the top five graded mares with SHB(GB). Up With The Lark has proven to be extremely fertile and is available via fresh, chilled or frozen semen. His oldest offspring are now appearing under saddle, and seem to have inherited his qualities – gentle laid back temperaments, amazing movement and careful scopey jump. His correct conformation, lovely flat bone, and extravagant movement also make him an ideal choice for Show mares.
It goes without saying that this Stallion was bred to perform, with a proven competition pedigree second to none.
In 2016 Up With The Lark was presented with the BEF Futurity Eventing Sire Award based on his progeny results at the BEF Futurity Gradings.
