Best Stallion at the WEG 2018 in Tryon/USA
Holstein line 1228
This stallion has really proven everything: Chardonnay was sixth and thus the best stallion at the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon/USA. He also placed in the two World Cup finals in 2019 and 2016 and was among the top 20 at the 2017 European Championships in Gothenburg/SWE. In addition, there are victories and top placings in the top jumping competitions and Nations Cups in Calgary/CAN, Sopot/POL, Paris/FRA, Madrid/ESP, Valkenswaard/NED, Rome/ITA, La Baule/FRA, Berlin and Leipzig. For his rider and owner Max Kühner, Chardonnay is a horse of the heart, “because he is not only an exceptional phenomenon in terms of sport, but his character and character are something special without exception”.
And Chardonnay passes on these outstanding traits without exception, as proven by his already licensed sons, the champion mare Tyri and the first offspring under saddle.
The sire Clarimo ASK won the Grand Prix of Falsterbo/SWE and the Nations Cup of Rotterdam/NED with Rolf-Göran Bengtsson/SWE. Numerous other top placings in the courses of Doha/UAE, Paris/FRA, ‘s-Hertogenbosch/NED, Hamburg, Valkenswaard/NED, Lyon/FRA, Vienna/AUT, Rome/ITA, Cannes/FRA and Gothenburg/SWE were added. In his first tournament season, Clarimo ASK won a series of show jumping competitions for young horses with Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann in the saddle and advanced to Holstein State Champion (6y.o.). Among his most successful offspring are the top jumpers Bardolina/Mario Deslauries/CAN, GK Coco Chanel/Conor Swail/IRL, Canamera/Lauren Hough/USA, C-Steffra/Niklaus Schurtenberger/SUI and Be Aperle VA/Diarmuid Howley/IRL as well as various cross top riders, such as the eventing German champion Costbar and the World Championship team bronze winner and individual tenth McClaren/Jonelle Price/NZL. From the group of more than 30 licensed sons of Clarimo, Crunch/Rolf-Göran Bengtsson/SWE stands out.
The dam Pamina III also produced the mare Cora IX (by Quirado), whose son Clarimo Junior (by Clarimo; 1.35 m-Spr.) was licensed in Belgium, and the 1.45 m jumping mare Chardonna (by Clarimo ASK).
The pedigree is followed by the Holstein heredity giants Corrado I, Carolus I and Calypso II.
The granddam Harmonie II produced Carrington (by Concerto II), licensed in Belgium, and Cuba Libre and Cashmere (both by Cassini I), who were successful in courses up to 1.50 metres. Her half-sister Gesandte II (by Lesanto) produced the licensed 1.30-metre show jumping stallion Colmani (by Colman) and the 1.40-metre jumper Ocalida (by Calido I). The Gesandte II daughter Lasina II (by Lasino) became the dam of the 1.60 metre show jumper AD Crosshill (by Calido I)/Anthina Onassis/GRE and Tara M (by Luidam), who was successful up to 1.50 metres. The Envoy’s daughter Nicola III (by Quantum) produced Serengeti (by Cassini I) and Allegra (by Con Air), who were placed up to 1.55 and 150 metres respectively.
The third dam Brigitte produced the 1.40 metre show jumpers Carpriccia (by Carolus I) and Calettos Boy (by Caletto I).
Holsteiner line 1228: from this the stallions Concar (by Contender), Cointreau (by Cor de la Bryere), Silver Dream (by Silbersee), Commil Champ Z (by Comilfo Plus Z), Chin Chin’s Erbe (by Chin Chin), Al-Lazal de Semilly (by Diamant de Semilly), Diassini (by Diamant de Semilly), Clearman (by Clearway) and Cassius (by Cassini I) as well as numerous show jumping horses.
