Successful in international young horse competitions
After his licensing in Vechta in 2000, the sport career of the highly talented Vintage One took off with Niels Bruynseels/BEL. After being highly placed in the international young horse tours, the fantastic show jumper also successfully took part in the World Championships for six-year-olds.
His sire Vagabond de la Pomme, who is by the show jumping world champion Vigo d’Arsouilles/Philippe Le Jeune/BEL, was himself one of the best show jumping stallions in the world with Pénélope Leprevos/FRA. In 2015 and 2016, he finished second and eighth in the World Cup finals in Los Angeles/USA and Gothenburg/SWE. He was also part of the French team placed seventh at the European Championships in 2017. Vagabond de la Pomme has produced over 30 licensed stallions, such as Jenson van’t Meulenhof/Niels Bruynseels/BEL, who came second in the Nations Cup final, and Jackson de Regor/Abdel Said/EGY, who was successful in Global Champions Tour competitions. The Olympic participant Major Tom/Rodrigo Pessoa/BRA leads the field of his sport offspring.
His dam’s sire Numero Uno, himself by the World Cup winner Libero H/Jos Lansink/BEL and out of the Holstein dam line 429, won his stallion performance test and was internationally successful with Marco Kutscher. Due to his outstanding hereditary performance, Numero Uno was awarded the “preferent” title at the KWPN licensing in 2011, which is the highest award in the Netherlands.
His grand-dam Ilonka was successful in advanced (S) level show jumping competitions under her sport name Lila and took part in the 2005 German Championships for young show jumping horses at the age of six. She is the dam of the two licensed and successful stallions Check In (by Cordalme Z; 1.60m SJ)/Samantha McIntosh/NZL and Checkter (by Cellestial; 1.55m SJ)/a.o. Leonie Böckmann/GER. The former took part in the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon/USA. She also produced the advanced (S*) level show jumper Check up (by Cordalme Z) and the intermediate (M**) level show jumper Lavender Brown (by Lintoc).
His great-grand-dam Ila is the half sister of the licensed stallion Carvazzo (by Cordalme Z) and the advanced (S) level show jumper Lordi (by Lord Pezi).
His fourth dam, Gilana or Böckmann’s Lady Liberty, as she was known in sport, won international show jumping competitions with Gilbert Böckmann/GER.
