Sire to Grand Prix star Fendi

Elite stallion Franklin started out his career as a KWPN champion stallion, performance test winner in the Netherlands, finalist at the Dressage World Breeding Championship for Young Horses and international Small Tour rosette winner. He then notched up his first Grand Prix placings with Malin Wahlkamp-Nilsson/SWE in the saddle. 20 of his sons have been licensed, including successful Grand Prix horse Kaliber/Andrea Woodard/USA, reserve champion Franklin’s Love PS and Kadans, our Oldenburg Championship bronze medal winner and Ic main premium stallion Fair Deal, Dressage World Breeding Championship finalist Feinsten, winner of the Aage Ravn Challenge Cup, Slangerupgaard’s Flottenheimer, and the Swedish stallion performance test winner Knockando VH. Other successful progeny include Louisdor Prize winner, Aachen Nations’ Cup winner, German Vice Champion and reserve Olympic horse, Fendi/Sönke Rothenberger, international Inter I winner Elektra di Fonte Abeti/Juliette Ramel/SWE, sixth placed horse in the German Youth Riders Championships Francis Drake OLD/Martha Raupach, as well as third placed horse in the Regional Championship, Franklin’s Love PS.

Faretti by Franklin was awarded a gold medal at the Elite Mare Show in Denmark. Faretti was the best Danish warmblood dressage filly in 2017. She was knocked down for the sensational price of 150,000 euros at the Nordic International Sales Auction. Her full sister Faretti II was the top-priced filly the following year. In 2020, another filly called Fascination sold for 60,000 euros at the Schockemöhle/Helgstrand Online Foal Auction. The title of Best Filly went to Francisca Lightfoot by Franklin in 2016 and to her paternal sister Vilard’s Fina in 2021.

Sire Ampère, himself KWPN champion stallion and stallion performance test winner, is one of the world’s top dressage sires according to WBFSH ranking. He sired over 60 licensed sons, like Olympic stallions Abegglen FH NRW/Victoria Max-Theurer/AUT, All at Once/Yessin Rahmouni/MAR and Flambeau/Larissa Pauluis/BEL. His award-winning daughters headed by Westphalian Champion mare Anky and mare Amicella, who produced the Westphalian champion stallion, Westphalian and Bundeschampion, World Championship dressage horse finalist, international Inter II-placed, Louisdor Prize fourth-placed and Grand Prix series winner Valverde/Yara Reichert.

Franklin’s pedigree boasts the very interesting bloodline of legendary sires Ferro and Flemmingh.

The dam’s sire Ferro won three championship silver medals. Ridden by Coby van Baalen/NED, he was part of the second-placed Dutch team at the 1998 World Equestrian Games in Rome/ITA, competed at the 1999 European Championships in Arnhem/NED and at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney/AUS. He also came second in the World Cup Final in ‘s-Hertogenbosch/NED. His more than 40 licensed sons include Rousseau, Negro, Metall and Rhodium. He has been awarded “pref” status in the Netherlands.

Maternal grandsire Flemmingh is one of the Netherlands’ top sport horse producers and sire to Grand Prix stallions Krack C/Anky van Grunsven/NED and Lingh/Edward Gal/NED.

In a class of his own!

Franklin is licensed in DWB, Hanover, Holstein Global, KWPN, Mecklenburg, Oldenburg, Rhineland, Southern German Stud Books, Westphalia, Selle Francais.
