By Royaldik (Oldenburg) out of Headley Britannia (British Sport Horse) x Jumbo16.2hh (165 cm) Intermediate Eventing Stallion, qualified to go Advanced Eventing in 2022. Premium Graded with Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain. Britannia Royal is a talented and beautiful young stallion with superb world-class bloodlines for breeding event horses on both sides of his pedigree.

His dam Headley Britannia is the phenomenal elite event mare, winner of the Badminton, Burghley and Kentucky International five-star three-day events, plus a team Olympic silver medal while representing Australia at the Beijing Olympics; her sire was Jumbo, the renowned international event sire whose offspring include Mr Chunky, bronze medal winner at the World Equestrian Games. On his sire’s side, Royaldik is by the super dressage sire Royal Diamond (by Rubinstein I) out of Herka (xx), full sister to the thoroughbred stallion Heraldik, the world’s most successful sire of event horses and no 1 in the world sire rankings for an astonishing ten consecutive years, as well as being dam-sire to Michael Jung’s wonderful horse La Biosthetique-Sam.

Britannia Royal is an elegant modern blood-type stallion, at least 70% TB. He is good-looking and short-coupled with a quick, bold, athletic jump. His natural speed cross country means he has found it easy to make the time allowed at British Eventing (BE) Intermediate level, and we are very excited that he has met the qualification to run at BE Advanced level next season. In 2021 Britannia Royal proved once again what a consistent performer he is with six top-ten placings from just eight runs, always clear cross country in fast times. Britannia Royal has now upgraded to British Eventing Advanced level.

Apart from his good looks Britannia Royal is a charming horse with a lovely calm, polite and trainable temperament, but very focused at events. This makes him a pleasure to handle at home and at competitions, and he seems to be passing his wonderful temperament onto his offspring.

His progeny are already starting to show their quality, with foals being highly rated at Young Horse Evaluation events in the UK. His two oldest offspring are now 4-year-olds, one destined to go eventing, the other to continue a career in the show ring. His first full crop of foals will be 4-year-olds in 2022 and we very much look forward to seeing them coming out as ridden horses.
