Armitage has all of that, making him a worthy descendant of his legendary sire, Argentinus, who, just like Grannus, Furioso II and Inschallah wrote breeding history not just in Oldenburg but far beyond Oldenburg’s borders. With international victories all the way up to advanced (S***) level, this modern type chestnut stallion has been one of the most striking personalities in recent years in international youngster tests with his rider, Marcus Ehning.
Just like their sire, Armitage’s offspring easily find their way up front in tests for young show jumpers. A special highlight: The 2009 Bundeschampionat where the former ESI Auction mare, Appearance, became the Vice Bundeschampion of six-year olds with Johannes Ehning. The mare had taken fifth place the year before in Warendorf. She comes from Armitage’s very first crop which was small in number. Success in breeding means to think in generations!
