German champion! Nations Cup third!

Drako de Maugre and his rider Patrick Stühlmeyer not only secured gold at the German Championships with fantastic performances and finished second in the Bemer Riders Tour overall standings. In addition, they achieved a remarkable triple at the CHIO Aachen with third and sixth places in the NRW and Turkish Airlines Prizes as well as a placement in the Grand Prix. In addition, he finished third in the Nations Cup in Hickstead/GBR and sixth in the Grand Prix in Herning/DEN. Drako de Maugre thus followed up his victories in the prestigious Sires of the Word show jumping in Lanaken/BEL and in the Grand Prix of Hagen a.T.W., Pinneberg and Opglabbeek/BEL, second place in the Nations Cup of Mannheim and the Grand Prix of Opglabbeek/BEL, third place in the Grand Prix of Münster and ninth place in the Grand Prix of St. Tropez/FRA and Braunschweig and in the Stuttgart German Masters. No less valuable were the debut successes in the Global Champions League stages of Rome/ITA, A Coruña/ESP, Madrid/ESP and Cannes/FRA, which made a decisive contribution to Team Riesenbeck’s overall victory. In the Bemer Riders Tour, Drako de Maugre ranks second ahead of the finale at the VR Classics 2024 in Neumünster.

Before his move under the saddle of Patrick Stühlmeyer, Drako de Maugre was already internationally successful up to 1.55 meter show jumping with Alexandra Francart/FRA in the saddle.

The first foals are extremely wiry athletes with ideal proportions, which were in demand on the auction grounds.

The sire Kannan is one of the most influential show jumping sires ever. For years he led the ranking of the world’s best show jumping sires and is currently back in first place. He himself was highly successful internationally under the Frenchman Michel Hécart. Both represented the French colours at the 2005 European Championships in San Patrignano/ITA. Kannan sired around 180 licensed sons and 170 offspring with successes in 1.60 metre show jumping, led by Olympic champion Nino des Buissonnets, World Cup winner Paille de la Roque/both Steve Guerdats/SUI, team vice European champion James Kann Cruz/Shane Sweetnam/IRE, Molly Malone/Bertram Allen/IRL, Quabri de L’Isle by Pedro Veniss/BRA, Oh D’Eole/Gregory Wathelet/BEL, Nikolaj de Music/Emanuele Gaudiano/ITA and Mom’s Toupie de la Roque/Pieter Devos/BEL.

The dam Atlanta de Maugre placed internationally in 1.45 metre show jumping competitions under Ludovic Gaudin/FRA.

The dam’s sire is the Anglo-Arabian Fusain du Defey AA, who was a finalist at the World Championships for young show jumpers (7y.o.) in Lanaken/BEL and later placed in the same place in the renowned Sires of the World show jumping. He won the Grand Prix of Blaye/FRA, Marmande/FRA and Castres/FRA and finished second in the Grand Prix of Yvre L’Eveque/FRA and Le Mans/FRA, which are also 1.55 metres high. Many of his offspring caused a sensation in the course and eventing, such as the 1.60 metre show jumper Quelstar du Vic BILH/Alexandra Francart/FRA and the CCI3* crack Pepsy du Thil/Nicolas Touziant/FRA.

The Belgian granddam Appia du Seigneur was placed internationally under Clement Bohren/FRA as well as in show jumping. Her daughter Finesse de Maugre (by Comme il faut) won international youngster tours under Benoit Cernin/FRA. Her daughter Destinée de Maugre (by Ugano Sitte) produced the international show jumper Contesse de Maugre (by Dollar Dela Pierre).

In the following generations, the top stallions Ogano Sitte/Philippe Lejeune/BEL and Rubens Du Ri d’Asse/Hansüli Sprunger/SUI will follow.

The third dam, Rosée du Seigneur, produced the 1.50 metre show jumpers Uganito du Seigneur/Orlando Izzo/ITA and Victoria du Seigneur/Marcello Manganotti/ITA as full siblings to Appia du Seigneur. The former was licensed and the latter became the dam of the licensed stallion Curby du Seigneur (by Doree van den Moskifarm)/Jérome Guery/BEL.

The great-grandmother produced three more international show jumpers.

The fourth dam produced the 1.60 metre show jumper Querelle du Seigneur (by Ksar-Sitte).

The dam line also produced the stallions Vulcain du Saint-Homme (by Ogano Sitte), Hollywood du Houssoit (by Dayton Sitte), Lingot d’or de la Petite Hunelle (by Greco Sitte) and numerous international show jumpers.

Highly interesting outcross pedigree
