Succeeded the leap into the top 10 best dressage sires worldwide

In 2019, Vivaldi made the headlines once again. For the first time, he is amongst the top ten of the world’s best dressage sires of the WBFSH ranking. With clockwork precision, he produces outstanding stars, starting with V-Plus Gold, the 1.3 million euro top-price of the 40th P.S.I. Auction, the two European Championship team silver medallists Desperado N.O.P./Emmelie Scholtens/NED and Glock’s Dream Boy N.O.P./Hans Peter Minderhoud/NED, the Grand Prix winners Expression/Diederik van Silfhout/NED, Chinook/Patrick van der Meer/NED and Etoine/Tinne Vilhelmson Silfvén/SWE as well as the up-and-coming stars Mount St. John VIP/Charlotte Dujardin/GBR, Harmony’s V-Plus/Susan Pape/GBR and Lolita, Westphalian Reserve Champion and fourth at the German Elite Mare Championships. In 2018, it was our premium stallion and two-million-euro stallion market sensation Vivino, the Hanoverian Champion Mare Vanity Fair and Louisdor Prize winner Veneziano/Daniel Bachmann Andersen/DEN who attracted attention. And this list could easily be extended. He has produced a total of 42 licensed stallions, including Eye Catcher, double bronze medallist at the World Championships for young dressage horses, Dancer, World Champion of young dressage horses, as well as our Burg Cup winner, Vitalis/Isabel Freese/NOR. Felix won double gold at the Pavo Cup in 2015 and 2016 in the Netherlands.

Vivaldi was Reserve Champion of his stallion performance test in the Netherlands and won the Pavo Cup for five-year-old dressage horses in 2007 (comparable to the National Championships). In 2008 and 2009, ridden by Hans Peter Minderhoud/NED, he won the KNHS/KWPN stallion competition, where he was awarded 10.0 for his trot. He was then internationally successful up to Prix St. Georges. In 2013, he won the VHO trophy at the KWPN licensing. After that, he was predominantly used for breeding.

His sire Krack C is considered as a foundation stallion in the Netherlands. The double Pavo Cup winner of 1996 and 1997 came eighth with Anky van Grunsven/NED in the individual ranking of the 2002 World Equestrian Games in Jerez/ESP. Amongst his sons licensed in the Netherlands are Trento B, Tuschinski, Tolando, United, Velazquez, Zhivago and Dorado.

Vivaldi’s half-sister Wiona Utopia was Champion of the National Mare Show in the Netherlands in 2006.

His dam’s sire Jazz was part of the Dutch Team at the World Equestrian Games in Jerez/ESP in 2002 with Tineke Bartes. He then continued his dressage career with Kirsten Beckers/NED. In 2002, Jazz was awarded with the predicate “keur” for his breeding performance. In 2006, he was named “KWPN Horse of the Year.” In 2007, he also received the title “preferent”. From 2008 to 2011 and again in 2019, Jazz is in the lead of the WBFSH dressage ranking, thanks to his numerous successful offspring, such as the multiple champion Parzival/Adelinde Cornelissen/NED.

Vivaldi descends from the Utopia line, which is the most successful Dutch mare family, from which descend Arko III/Nick Skelton/GBR and Darco/Ludo Philippaerts‘/BEL as well as the stallions Premier and Radar and the international show-jumping horses Loretta, It’s the Business, Now or Never and Opium.
